I enjoyed what I saw, which was from GRA onwards ont Sunday. Could've done without it pissing down from the start til the end of our set, but at least there was still a decent crowd.
The fireworks were a bit of an anticlimax, to say the least. |

i agree with what Thom said. could've done with some alcohol on sale. we got on the bus in the town centre and the first thing the driver said was "beer tent's closed". what is it with this town and not being able to manage alcohol at open-air events? also the sound mix wasn't up to much. well, actually it sounded like a pretty good mix but with the low frequencies turned right up, which turned the bass into a fuzzy mess and made the bass drum whack you in the chest.
the seeming lack of public transport after the bands had finished wasn't very good either. Danni and i got to the bus stop at quarter past ten and there apparently wasn't another bus until eleven. _________________ this is a dead forum. it has ceased to be. etc. |

saying that, all the bands we saw played very well, and the crowd seemed well-behaved. _________________ this is a dead forum. it has ceased to be. etc. |

Yes I didnt undersand the beer policy, surely the the security could just stop the young kids from drinking, but leave the responsiblish hehe people alone!
The sound was pretty bad from onstage, couldnt here the drums very well the guitar was ear shattering, it seemed to sound the best from the backstage area
There were some good performances at the show, but there definatly need to be a few changes, that is if they have it next year, like maybe a marquee instead of an open air gig, cause we all know what the weather is like over here by now, and sort the alcohol policies out, and I dont think that 20 minutes is long enough for a band to be on stage do you!

They need to cut down the amount of bands and allow more time for change overs in between... That way you can get a decent monitor mix.
You can get away with a shit on stage sound in a club or somewhere small but when there's nothing to bounce the sound back you can't hear fuck all.
All in all I thought it was really good. I was expecting far less.
Can't control the rain. If it was sunny as fuck and the bands were stuck in a tent no-one would be arsed with it... _________________ I LOVE JAM BUTTYS |
