SPECIAL FREE EVENT tomorrow (Friday April 21)A ONE-OFF exclusive night of acoustic and electrical extravagance is on offer to all LMC members and over-18s on Friday April 21 at the Ormskirk Comrades Club...
WITH 2005 flying by and the awards show going AWOL, Lancashire Music Collective is offering members and over-18s an incredible night of live music and an after-gig party on April 21.
The action takes place at Ormskirk Comrades Club at 7.30pm and is solely a night for members to kick back and soak up some contemporary favourite acoustic charms before a night of DJs and revelling.
The night features an old favourite and rare talent in the shape of London's guitar genius, Michael Berk.
Michael dazzled our senses back in 2004 with a show which more than lived up to his reputation as one of the country's finest individual artists, creating his own unique style which is both absorbing, artistic and percussive.
Closer to home is Liverpudl's Tribal; a rootsy, soulful acoustic guitarist with a flair for subtlety and melody akin to Ben Harper and John Martyn.
The final act on this remarkable bill is Aughton singer-songwriter Christan Slawinski.
Reminiscent of late Tim Buckley and Nick Drake his music is both beautiful, uplifting and reflective. Wearing his influences on his sleeve, Slawinski melds the folk-rock tradition of Young, Mitchell and Dylan but makes it all his own.
There will be a party/disco after the live music with bar open late.
