Gigs with the Bolton Collective are recommended by Corinthians... get one if poss.
Very poor turnout for last showcase
Is Carl Pierce still playing the March Showcase?
Collective still folding, Citadel still awful:
* over-18s policy
* poor lighting
* poor mixing (students on mixing desk)
* not changing ticket price as requested
* nonsense about VAT in meetings.
* bouncers
* appalling management
* generally shoddy service
* "waiting for a phone call"
* don't like the fact that we mention all this in minutes and that said minutes are available online (hi Gav!)
Motion passed that the Collective fold. Money in the Collective's account will be used to fund the CD and pay the loss we will inevitably make on the next gig. The remainder (if any) will be given to bands and artists that have supported the Collective over the last few years to pay for studio time. Some money will be kept in trust to pass on to the Collective's successor.
> Gig (for it is singular)
March 17th - Below the Lights (2 gtr amps +bass amps), Mechagodzilla (kit + gtr head), Darryl + band, Carl Pierce
> Next Meeting
7th March

Why don't you just get a new venue if you have so much hassle?

It seems a bit daft if you're getting grief like.
It's a top venue but if it were in a pub then you wouldn't be running at a loss. And you could maybe sort out some "Saturday Matinee" gigs for the young uns.

This is a crying shame.Unfortunately the relationship between the Citadel and the Collective has never been great.They seem to see the Collective as a pain in the arse, the council don't seem interested so its inevitable people like Alistair and Tom who have worked hard for the the cause will eventually get pissed off.
I can't make the meetings anymore since they switched nights, but if there is anything i can do to help, please let me know.
Will, could you PM me Tommy or Alistair's number?

Well what can I say. The Collective is to be no more. SUCH a shame. As someone who has been a member of the Collective in the past and played on showcases I would personally like to thank Tom and Alistair for their support, humour and hospitality.
The Collective is a great loss to the music scene of St Helens. Anyone thought of running a piece in the local rag? No thanks to the Citadel and local Council who have been less than helpful.
Oh well rant over. Thanks all of you Colletivees.
