okay... seeing as there seems to have been a little confusion as to how the voting works, here are step-by-step instructions that even one of Westlife could understand (shame they're not nominated for anything):

1. Register on the forum.
2. Check your inbox for the confirmation email. If you have a junk mail folder (hotmail users, this means you!) it might well have gone in there. If you registered before today (Saturday 3rd) it should say it's from Thomvaccine@hotmail.com, otherwise it'll say william.itwasreallynothing@hotmail.com
3. Click the link in the email to activate your forum account.
4. Log in
5. Go to the SHM Awards 2005 forum (ie. here).
6. Click the circle next to who/what you want to vote for
7. Click "Submit"
8. Your vote will come up in the graph. Hopefully.

I'm going to confirm everyone's account that's already signed up and not confirmed their account manually now, so you should all be able to vote.

also: if you use a fake email address, registration won't work.

Yeah, it means I get bombarded with fucking hotmail things saying it couldn't deliver owt to frank @ hotmail.com because it doesn't exist! Who tried that one?

we seem to be getting a lot of registrations from a few proprietary domains, which is very suspicious. we'd like to remind people that it's only a stupid cardboard award (actual value £0.01) and so cheating of any variety is not only unsportsmanlike, but also rather pointless. we've deleted the accounts in question, but the users are free to return if they so wish, so long as they only have one account each.

also: Sheila, i have no idea who you are, but the fact that i keep getting the confirm messages bounced indicates that that email address probably isn't correct. is it .co.uk instead of .com?
