Lupine present Rubberneck at The Citadel
8pm/£4
feat. The Children, Stormy Corner, Shabby Rogue & James Veitch
The Children are one of Manchester's most popular bands and purveyors of scratchy rock&roll r'n'b. They supported Weller last year, are one of Clint Boon's favourite bands and won XFM's unsigned band of 2006. Stormy Corner are some kind of dirty scouse Oasis, all leather jackets and indie credentials lined-up with 60s clean sounding guitars and a bit of speedy Stones blues. They have two lead vocalists too! Shabby Rogue could well be the band of the night with their infectious way around an indie-pop tune taking in Love, late night romances in indie discos and a sense of the season turning towards summer nights and cool drinks. Making up the night is James Veitch; a guy who takes the best of alternative music from the 80’s and funnels it through awe-inspiring acoustic songs that at first seem simple, but really are exploring new realms.
