Friday 23rd Dec
Northern Lights
A festive night is promised with the best indie from the past year and a few Christmas songs as well as the usual electric rock and roll playlists.
Sunday 24th Dec
Christmas Eve at Northern Lights
Ah, Christmas time in full swing again. It seems to come around quicker each year. More Christmassy songs including a few from the Arcade Fire. Free gifts to those in early too. Expect much festive shenanigans.
Tuesday 26th Dec
Fancy Dress with Northern Lights + ELVIS
The annual Boxing Day fancy dress night of Wigan. I've never been to another town on a Boxing Night so am not sure if this happens all over the UK, nor am I sure why it happens? Anyway, expect to see at least one group of lads dressed as Resevoir Dogs Gangsters and a few characters from Little Britain. It's always a fun night and there are a few costumes every year that are inventive, smart and raise a laugh. We'll be posting photos of the best get-ups on the website. Also appearing at Northern Lights tonight is ELVIS. We got together the other week, made a potion, dug him up and brought him back to life. The first thing he did was fart.
Friday 29th Dec
Festivities with Northern Lights
A bit of an inbetweener tonight with highlights being played early on of up and coming releases for 2007 and another free promo giveaway from the djs.
Sunday 31st Dec
The Stone Roses Experience + The Penny Blacks
Back again after a previous triumphant night at Club Nirvana, they are the band who sound and play (and sing) like we wished the Roses would have years ago. Expect all the favourites and a few surprises. Last time they played the venue sold out so make sure you get a ticket and bring your baggies Wink
Support comes from The Penny Blacks with Northern Lights finishing off the night.

Wednesday 10th January 2007
Autokat, Gintis, Dave Rybka, The Tonics
Kings Electric, Wigan £3
The first Lupine gig of 2007 sees the mighty Welsh giants Gintis arrive finally in Wigan to bedazzle us with their magical harmonies and mesmerising indie folk pop. There's a great quote on their website that gives you an inkling into their mind: "If you like your music to come with scarves, blazers, shit haircuts played by pretty boys in jeans way too tight, then just fuck off now." They come from the University of Beefheart and graduated with Flaming Lips honours. I once spent half an hour with them looking for a wizard who was making magic potions in a caravan in Skegness. They are a little offbeat but in the best and most charming way.

Support on the night comes from Autokat, Dave Rybka and The Tonics. More info on these bands soon.
Lupine Wednesday night gigs will now be running fortnightly.
