Britpop II: Call for bands...We're hosting another Britpop covers night on Bank Holiday Sunday 28th May at Club Nirvana (Wigan). The 1st one was incredible, the climax possibly being The Suzukis garage version of Blur's 'Girls & Boys'...The dj's will be playing popular songs from the time but the invitation is open to any style band. The idea is to do it your own way but the less brave are free to perform exact renditions. Its basically a lot of fun. Anyone interested can either reply to this, send a private message, email, phone etc...-Each band can do TWO songs. -'Britpop' does not refer soley to Oasis & Blur. Last time we had covers of Supergrass, Elastica and others i can't remember but there are lots of other bands who count - Ocean Colour Scene, The Verve, Shed 7, Pulp, Menswe@r, Bluetones, Suede... Oh yes...maybe the highlight of the 1st Britpop night was actually Andrew Bain's ingenious acoustic version of Born Slippy by Underworld. Fantastic! sean@lupinepromotions.com _________________ |
