Anyway...
You may snigger at me for asking this, but what exactly *is* the Collective? And how does one go about getting involved? Also, why are there so many fantastic local musicians around who have nothing to do with it?

the collective is a loosely-formed group of musicians and bands whose main aim is to promote live and original music in and around St. Helens. current collective activities include putting on monthly showcase gigs at the Citadel, and releasing a CD featuring Collective bands. more activities are to be undertaken as and when they're thought of. anyone is free to suggest what said activities should be.
And how does one go about getting involved?
come down to a meeting. the next one is this Tuesday - approximately 7:30pm to whenever everything's been discussed. if there's a lot to discuss, it might drag on to 9. plenty of time to get over to the nights on at The Zoo or The Globe afterwards, if you wish.

because either they don't know about it, aren't interested in it, or think we're all cocks. or any combination of the above.
